Consultation has concluded.

Council is proposing to upgrade Flinders Parade at North Lakes to improve road network capacity, reduce delays and provide a safer road environment for motorists, pedestrians and cyclists.

The proposal includes the upgrade of three intersections and the widening of Flinders Parade between Diamond Jubilee Way and Torres Crescent.

The preliminary design plans show the following proposed works:

Intersection of Diamond Jubilee Way/Flinders Parade/Aurora Boulevard

  • Installing an extra southbound right turn lane on Diamond Jubilee Way
  • Converting the existing eastbound through lane on Flinders Parade to a through-right turn lane
  • Installing signalised pedestrian crossings on the existing left turn slip lanes
  • Installing new cyclist facilities including entry/exit ramps and line-marked lanes.

Intersection of Flinders Parade/Cook Court

  • Installing traffic signals at the intersection, including pedestrian crossing facilities
  • Installing an extra eastbound through lane and a left turn slip lane on Flinders Parade
  • Extending the length of the westbound right turn lane on Flinders Parade
  • Installing new cyclist facilities including entry/exit ramps and line-marked lanes.

Intersection of Flinders Parade / Torres Crescent

  • Converting the intersection into a roundabout.

Western Driveway Crossover for McDonald’s and Taco Bell

  • Restricting exit movements onto Flinders Parade to left-out only. Under the proposed arrangement, all northbound motorists exiting the development would perform a U-turn at the proposed roundabout at the intersection of Flinders Parade / Torres Crescent.
