City of Moreton Bay is growing rapidly as more people move to South East Queensland. We know it’s vital that our transport infrastructure is upgraded to cater for that growth.

We’ve heard that some residents have safety concerns with the intersection of Brays and Henry Roads in Griffin. This intersection is used by about 13,000 vehicles per day. In response to increasing traffic volumes, we’re planning an intersection upgrade.

Community consultation

Between 18 September and 24 October 2025, we engaged with you to:

  • understand your experiences, concerns and observations at the intersection
  • collect your feedback on a number of upgrade options including Council’s preferred traffic signals option.

You were able to have your say via an online community survey or by attending a community drop-in session. We received 65 online survey responses. From this survey, we learnt:

  • Current concerns

79% of you had concerns about the intersection as its currently designed

  • Preferred option

62% of you supported the preferred option we presented of traffic signals

We also heard from a further 14 people at a community drop-in session on 8 October 2025.

This feedback has been summarised in a Consultation Summary Report now available for download.

Next steps

Thank you for sharing your views with us. We value the information you have provided.

The project team are now considering your feedback and insights as they seek to determine the best upgrade to take forward into detailed design. The final outcome will address traffic flow and safety concerns while balancing community feedback and considering total upgrade costs.

You will hear from us again when these decisions have progressed and more information can be provided.

Options considered

Several options were assessed against multiple criteria before the preferred option (traffic lights) was identified. A brief summary of the pros and cons of each option is below.
