City of Moreton Bay is growing and maturing as more people move to South East Queensland. It’s important our infrastructure keeps pace with growth.

We’ve heard from our community that there are some safety concerns with the intersection of Brays and Henry Roads, Griffin. This intersection currently sees about 13,000 vehicles per day. In response, we’ve been planning an intersection upgrade.

After exploring a range of road safety engineering options, we have identified a preferred solution for this intersection, but before we finalise the planning, we want to better understand your experiences and observations at the intersection. We also want to hear your feedback on the preferred solution (traffic lights).

Consultation is now closed

From 18 September to 24 October 2025, we presented a preliminary design for our preferred option alongside alternate options. We highlighted the advantages and disadvantages of each.

You could have your say via an online community survey or by attending a community drop-in session.

Results have now been summarised and will be available to access soon in a Summary Report

Next steps

We are grateful to all the residents that participated and shared their invaluable knowledge.

The project team will consider the community feedback and insights shared during this consultation as they refine the preferred option and determine the best upgrade to take forward into full detailed design.

The team will aim to achieve the most cost-effective options to address the traffic flow and safety concerns, to meet the communities’ needs and priorities.

Further community engagement will be undertaken when the design of the preferred option has progressed and more information can be provided.

Options considered

Several options were assessed against multiple criteria before the preferred option (traffic lights) was identified. A brief summary of the pros and cons of each option is below.
