Consultation has concluded.

This proposed active transport project is located adjacent to Cabbage Tree Creek in Everton Hills on the southern side of Collins Road between John Street and the Collins Road service road.

Council supports a healthy and active lifestyle for residents by investing in safe, efficient, reliable and integrated transport networks.

The existing pathways that run adjacent to Cabbage Tree Creek in Everton Hills are disjointed and inconsistent. This results in users having to cross Collins Road in numerous locations to travel east-west and access the facilities in Alfredson Park and Sylvia Gibbs Park.

To ensure pedestrians and cyclists can travel safely and continuously along the southern side of Collins Road, Council are planning active transport improvements including a 2.0m wide pathway and upgraded creek crossings.

A concept plan has been prepared that shows the layout of the proposed segregated pathway. It includes:

  • 2.0m wide shared pathway for cyclists and pedestrians
  • Improved crossings of Cabbage Tree Creek
  • Removal and replacement of damaged sections of existing pathway
  • Wayfinding and fauna friendly lighting
  • Fauna fencing.
