Help shape City of Moreton Bay’s reputation as a place to do business

For the past four years, UniSC Moreton Bay, in partnership with City of Moreton Bay, has been conducting research into how a strong business reputation can drive economic growth and deliver real benefits for local enterprises.

Between 21 September and 21 October 2025, business owners in the City of Moreton Bay are invited to share their views about City of Moreton Bay as a place to do business and what makes it a competitive business destination.

If you own a small, medium or larger business that is located in the City of Moreton Bay, UniSC want to know what you think.

Results from this survey will be released in early 2026. Those who complete the survey will be given the option to also register their details to receive a copy of the results when they are published and to be invited to attend workshops where insights will be shared.

History of this research

The City of Moreton Bay reputation project was initiated in response to business community consultation and prior research that highlighted a strong city identity is central to achieving the economic goals set out in Our City’s Economic Strategy 2020–2041.

Key findings of the research to date reveal over the past four years there has been a positive increase in City of Moreton Bay’s reputation as a place to do business, with:

  • Internal identity: Strengthening City of Moreton Bay business perceptions of innovativeness, entrepreneurship, technological readiness, institutional integrity, and social and environmental orientation.
  • External image: Stable upward trend of perception of City of Moreton Bay as a place associated with growth, affordability and lifestyle.
  • Interest in relocating to City of Moreton Bay: Above average intention for business to relocate (above 50%, compared to expected of average of 22-30%).

These findings assist in refining the city’s value proposition for investment and talent attraction and retention, and indicate there is momentum behind the City of Moreton Bay’s transformation into a competitive business destination with a strong entrepreneurial ecosystem.

Cities with thriving entrepreneurial ecosystems report increased economic growth, job creation, innovation and place competitiveness.

UniSC is continuing to monitor the city’s reputation through annual tracking of reputation metrics to inform ongoing efforts. Workshops and champions network are also used to engage City of Moreton Bay businesses and provide these businesses with actionable insights and messaging resources.
