The Dayboro War Memorial Showgrounds is a valued community space, supporting a range of sporting, recreational, and cultural activities. As Dayboro continues to grow, it’s essential we plan for the future of this site to ensure it remains a thriving hub for the community. To guide this process, Council is developing a new structure plan that will set out a clear vision for future use and development of the site.

As a key user of the Dayboro War Memorial Showgrounds, your first-hand experience is vital in shaping its future. As part of a sporting club, community group, or event organisation, you understand the site’s strengths and challenges better than anyone.

We invite you to participate in this process by sharing your insights and ideas. Your feedback will help inform future improvements so they align with the needs of those who use the site most.

To make sure all voices are heard, we encourage you to discuss this project with your committee members, participants, volunteers, and other key stakeholders to gather their perspectives.

1. Initial survey- Start by completing our short online survey. This will give us a better understanding of your group’s activities, needs, and challenges before we meet with you for a more detailed discussion (one survey response per organisation only).
2. Individual user group meetings - We will hold one-on-one meetings with each user group to explore your specific needs, challenges, and ideas for the future. These discussions will help shape the draft structure plan.
3. Collaborative workshop - All site user groups will come together for a workshop session to:
   • hear what we’ve learned from the initial consultation
   • discuss key opportunities for improvement
   • collaborate on a shared vision for the site’s future.

Please note the collaborative workshop session will be held from 5:30 - 7:30 pm on 17 June 2025 at the Showgrounds. More details will be sent via email closer to the time.
