Dayboro War Memorial Grounds Structure Plan

The Dayboro War Memorial Grounds is a valued community space, supporting a range of sporting, recreational, and cultural activities. As Dayboro continues to grow, it’s essential we plan for the future of this site to ensure it remains a thriving hub for the community. To guide this process, Council is developing a new structure plan that will set out a clear vision for future use and development of the site.

What is a structure plan?

A structure plan provides guidance on how an area should grow and develop with infrastructure and services that support both current and future users. Structure plans are used to help:

  • define where and how future development will take place
  • plan for infrastructure and services that meet community needs now and in the future.

Where are we now?

In 2025, we met with representatives from 11 community organisations that operate on, or have strong connections to, the grounds. Their insights helped shape the first draft of the Structure Plan. A summary of what we heard during this stage is available in the Community Engagement Summary.

In June 2026, we presented this first draft back to the same groups. We are now seeking further feedback from these groups to refine the draft and move toward a final Structure Plan.

Feedback on the draft Structure Plan

Thank you to all who took part in the collaborative workshop on 9 June 2026 to help shape the draft Structure Plan. As a key user of the Grounds, your first‑hand experience and insight into the site’s strengths and challenges play an essential role in planning its future.

We gained valuable perspectives during the workshop, but we also recognise that reviewing a draft structure plan takes time. To ensure every organisation has the opportunity to provide considered input, we’ve extended the consultation period by an additional four weeks.

We invite your organisation to review the draft Structure Plan below and submit formal feedback. Your insights will help us refine the plan so it better reflects the needs and priorities of those who use the precinct most.

Once feedback from all user groups has been received, we will incorporate this input into the next iteration of the plan and share updates at a follow‑up workshop scheduled for early August.

How to submit your feedback

Please provide your feedback via the form below by 4pm Monday 13 July 2026. You can review the draft Structure Plan below or download it here.

To help ensure a fair and balanced response, we ask that each organisation submit one response only. We encourage you to discuss the project with your committee members, participants, volunteers and other key stakeholders to capture a range of perspectives.

As the Structure Plan remains in draft form, we kindly ask that you do not share the plan more broadly with the community at this stage. There will be an opportunity to share more widely with community later in the process.

If you have any questions or would like to speak with the project team, please contact us on 3205 5555.

Dayboro War Memorial Draft Structure Plan

The draft Structure Plan is grounded by the following four principles:

1. Resilience: Disaster resilient infrastructure.

2. Universality: Universally accessible infrastructure, adaptive for multiple uses.

3. Future proof: Provision for future growth, relocation of existing and ageing assts, courts, pools, etc.

4. Equitable utilisation: Multipurpose facilities for use by existing site users, local schools and community.
