The Environmental Hub built in 2022 was just the first step in our plan to transform the old Qld Fisheries site into an exciting community park for play, recreation, learning and events.

Now it’s time to plan for park and playground facilities at the site. Your feedback will help identify the kinds of things the community wants for the park

The below indicative plan was shared as part of the construction of the Environmental Hub to help demonstrate the potential for this huge space. It’s a great starting point to explore conversations of what community might like in the space. Everything within the blue dotted line is up for discussion.

Community Feedback

To better understand future needs and inform the design of Joseph Crescent Park, we sought feedback from park users and neighbours.

Between 4 June and 2 July 2025, community were invited to:

• Attend a visioning workshop to dive deeper on exploring how the space might be used.
• Attend our pop-up Family Environment Day to speak to the project team, get more information, and share their ideas to imagine the future of Joseph Crescent Park.
• Complete a survey to share their views on what the design should include.
• Share their vision using the 'big ideas' box below.

Thank you to those who took the time to provide comments on improvements. Your insights are essential to planning the future of this space together. We are currently reviewing all feedback and creating a concept design. The concept design will then be shared for further community input.

All upgrades are pending final designs and funding. Having a well-developed plan will position us well to seek funding when opportunities arise.
