Have your say on the draft concept design for the new playspace in Leslie Patrick Park, Arana Hills

The All Abilities Playground at Leslie Patrick Park, Arana Hills opened in 2019. The award-winning playground was the first of its kind in South East Queensland. It aims to cater for children and adults of all abilities and is a space we are proud of.

We have heard you want this much-loved playground to be even more accessible. We are designing a new inclusive play space for children and adults who are blind or have low vision.

Inspired by a “braille trail”, the draft concept plan features unique tactical and sensory play elements. It was prepared with input from industry experts, users with lived experience and Vision Australia.

We now invite your feedback on the draft concept plan. We especially want to hear from those with lived experience of blindness or low vision, and the local community.

We will use your feedback to refine and finalise the concept design ahead of the detailed design.

Consultation will be open from Monday 15 July until 4pm Sunday 11 August 2024.
