Consultation has concluded
Moreton Bay Regional Council is seeking feedback on the new concept design for North Lakes Skate Park.
In September 2020, Council engaged industry experts, CONVIC, to assist with the development and design of the proposed upgrade. Now after considering the initial ideas provided by the community, the concept design is ready for your feedback.
Council is committed to providing public spaces that promote inclusion, and active and healthy lifestyles for the community. As a result, Council is planning to upgrade several of our skate facilities across the region.
In 2019, Council worked with industry professionals to carry out a detailed BMX and Skate Park Facilities Audit. The audit assessed the functionality, structural condition and strategic location of each of our twenty-three skate park facilities. From this, Council identified opportunities to improve all of the skate parks through significant investment in maintenance and renewal. Council has also identified opportunities for seven skate parks to be redesigned and upgraded; these are:
Albany Creek, Morayfield, Deception Bay that have developed concept designs and set to be delivered over the next two years.
North Lakes (Aurora Boulevard Park) - Being consulted on now, &
Bray Park (Les Hughes Sporting Complex), Redcliffe and Caboolture that Council will work with community to develop concepts for over the next few years.
