The Moreton Bay Region is growing and lots of works are underway to ensure the necessary planning and infrastructure is in place to support this growth. Some of this work is being led by Moreton Bay Regional Council, while other activities are being led by the State Government.

  • Caboolture West Place Naming

    Consultation led by State Government under Place Names Act 1994

    Overview: Submissions are being invited on proposed locality changes (including suburb names and boundaries) to accommodate urban growth in Caboolture West.

    Timeline: Consultation is open 2 Dec 2022 until 3 Feb 2023.

  • North Brisbane Bruce Highway Western Alternative

    Also known as Moreton Motorway

    Overview: TMR is planning a new transport corridor from Beerburrum and north Brisbane. Stage 1 (Moodlu to Moorina) was gazetted in June 2022. Stage 2 (Moorina to Narangba) alignment and corridor requirements were announced 22 Nov 2022. Consultation on Stage 2 is now open.

    Timeline: Stage 3 planning and consultation is expected to start in early 2023. Provide early feedback via the TMR website.

  • Caboolture West Interim Structure Plan (CWISP)

    Overview: Over the next 40 years, Caboolture West will become a regional city accommodating around 30,000 homes and 17,000 jobs. CWISP is an early release of some of the overall land use and infrastructure planning that will ensure Caboolture West develops as a well-planned and serviced community.

    Timeline: Public consultation on the draft CWISP has now closed.
