A district park for Wamuran
We are planning a new district park for Wamuran that will incorporate the Wamuran Sports Complex and H&J Walters Recreation Area.
We have developed a concept plan to transform this area and we want your ideas to help us finalise the design for Stage 1. Stage 1 focuses on upgrades to the H&J Walters Recreation Area.
Stage 1 is expected to include:
- a new internal access road and parking area
- a district level playground
- toilet block, picnic shelters and BBQ
- an exercise area
- open kickabout spaces.

March 2025 update
Between 5 February 2025 and 5 March 2025, we invited community feedback to help finalise the design for Stage 1 (outlined in red in the concept plan).
Thank you to all community members who participated. A summary of the feedback received will be made available on this web page as soon as its ready.
What happens next?
We expect to complete the detailed design for Stage 1 of the new district park in 2025. Construction dates for Stage 1 are still being finalised and will be subject to funding availability and other Council processes.

The plan will be delivered in stages. The red dotted outline on the plan below shows what is planned for delivery in Stage 1. The blue hotspots indicate potential features for future stages and the yellow hotspots represent existing infrastructure.
