We are upgrading Adelong Court Park

We know from Moreton Says that some of the top things communities in Moreton Bay would like to see in their neighbourhoods are greenspaces for relaxing and connection to nature, and access to exercise and play equipment for all ages and abilities.

As our population grows, so does the demand for organised and non-organised sports. Council is committed to providing recreational infrastructure that supports healthy and active lifestyles. To achieve this, we are exploring ways to improve our current facilities and open spaces, to ensure we can continue to meet the needs of our community both now and in the future.

Adding new features for local families

Adelong Court Park is a well-loved local park at 77 Adelong Court, Morayfield. The park has open grassy areas and shade trees that provide the local community with a recreational and play space within walking distance.

Council has prepared a draft Improvement Plan to guide the park upgrade. The draft plan retains the playground, outdoor fitness area, bbq and open green space and proposes some new additions including:

  • new play equipment in the playground
  • a small pump track
  • linking pathways
  • seating
  • landscaping and shade sails.

A pump track for all ages and abilities

Pump tracks are very popular for families with young children who want to safely learn to ride scooters and bikes before moving to BMX tracks and skateparks that can require higher skill levels.

The planned pump track will be installed to the east of the existing playground. The track will be approximately forty metres in length and will loop around existing vegetation that will provide some shade cover for users.
