The detailed design of the Centenary Lakes Regional Playground and zero-depth splash pad is nearing completion.

This new playground will provide an inclusive, all-ages and abilities recreational space. Some of the features of the new playground include:

  • play structures,
  • sensory trails
  • splash pad with waterplay wheelchairs
  • amenities
  • a Changing Places facility
  • wheelchair lockers
  • picnic areas
  • BBQs
  • shaded areas.

The $12+ million project includes a $4.7 million contribution from the SEQ Liveability Fund and a $3 million contribution from the Federal Government’s Investing in Our Communities Fund.

Council will soon call for tenders for the project, with construction expected to begin this financial year.

Final conceptual imagery for the play features will be available after Council awards the construction contract.
