The decisions we make today shape the future of our communities. To make the best decisions possible Council needs to understand what is important to those who live, work, play and visit City of Moreton Bay.

As our city grows the needs, values, priorities and aspirations of our communities continue to change. Moreton Says brings current and diverse community views into our decision-making, and enables Council to achieve better outcomes for our communities. It also helps us understand how the views of our communities are changing over time.

Council began Moreton Says in April 2021 with an Anchor survey. Since then, Moreton Says has conducted six subsequent surveys. In total, Moreton Says has collected more than 24,600 survey responses covering everything from the environment and sustainability to how you would like to interact with Council.

If you live, work, play or visit in City of Moreton Bay and you are aged 15 years or over we would love to hear from you. We want as many people as possible to participate in Moreton Says so the data we collect is truly representative of the many communities that make up our city.

Council has enlisted the expert services of .id Consulting to support the program from 2024 to early 2027. .id Consulting has over 25 years of experience in using demographic, economic, and population forecasting data to narrate the stories of places and communities. They have experience in providing tools and consulting services to the local government sector, including the City of Ipswich, Gold Coast City, and Sunshine Coast Council. From 2021-2023, Council partnered with Voconiq to deliver the Moreton Says surveys. You can read more about Voconiq at voconiq.com.

Yes, to participate in the survey you will need to provide your email address. Providing your name is optional.

All data and reports that are publicly released will be deidentified so you don't have to worry about your personal details being released.

Council is committed to protecting privacy and personal information in accordance with the Information Privacy Act 2009 (IP Act). All personal information collected in the Moreton Says surveys will be managed by Council and our contractors in accordance with the IP Act.

The Moreton Says surveys is open twice each year. When the survey is open, it can be completed online at moretonbay.link/moreton-says on most modern mobile devices including phones and tablets.

Alternatively, printed copies of the survey are available:

• your nearest Council Library or customer service centre
• by phoning Council on 1300 477 161 to have one mailed to you
• at one of the many pop-ups at community events across the city during the survey period.

Council libraries offer one-hour free internet access per day (and library membership is free). Bookings are recommended and can be made in person or by phoning any of our libraries.

Printed copies of the survey are also available:
