You told us you want all residents to access and enjoy our region’s many benefits and pursue their own wellbeing to the greatest extent possible.

We have listened, and in our draft Community Wellbeing Strategy we propose a range of key initiatives including:

  • Building the capacity of health, sport and recreation providers to make their services more inclusive and affordable for everyone
  • Expanding community and cultural programming in council libraries, galleries and museums to reflect our diversity
  • Undertaking education to improve community knowledge about natural disasters and change so they can be prepared and more resilient.
  • Increasing activation of community halls and facilities to create better opportunities for community connection.
  • Working with community organisations to build a greater understanding and engagement with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

We invited community feedback on this draft strategy in February/March 2023. We are now considering all feedback received as we finalise the strategy for adoption.
