You told us that as our region grows, protecting our natural environment and having a clear roadmap for growth is important.

We have listened and in our draft Growth Management Strategy we propose a goal to maintain 75% of the region as rural and natural landscapes without urban development.

By constraining urban development to 25% of our region, we’ll retain important, productive rural areas, landscapes, and habitat for wildlife.

We invited community feedback on this draft strategy in February/March 2023. We are now considering all feedback received as we finalise the strategy for adoption.
