You told us that congestion was a major issue and one of the reasons why it is easier to drive than use public or active transport when travelling in and around our region.

The lack of frequent, reliable public transport was a key theme raised during consultation, highlighting the need for a connected and integrated transport system.

We have listened and in our draft Integrated Public Transport Strategy, we propose to:

  • Create walkable and rideable communities that support our communities move around our region without relying on a car
  • Focus on improving the reliability of car trips along key local road corridors so our communities can plan their journeys with confidence
  • Advocate State and Federal governments to deliver improved public transport and integration of all roads in the network.

We invited community feedback on this draft strategy in February/March 2023. We are now considering all feedback received as we finalise the strategy for adoption.
